Types of Events

Our venue is ideally suited for a variety of events including but not limited to: Wedding Ceremonies & Receptions, Rehearsal Dinners, Engagement Parties, Wedding Brunches, Styled Shoots, Portrait Sessions, Birthday Parties, Bridal Showers & Luncheons, Baby Showers, Quinceañeras, Sweet 16 Parties, Graduations, Anniversaries, Corporate Events, Retreats, Family Reunions, Picnics, Holiday Parties, Open-Air Concerts, Sorority Events, and Fundraisers.

Rental Rates

Le San Michele does not offer “packages” however, we would be happy to refer you to companies that have held events at our venue that do.

You can view a list of our current rental rates on our PRICING page or contact Virginia Fleming for more information at (512) 415-0935 or lesanmichele@gmail.com. For wedding ceremonies and reception rentals there is a 6 hour minimum.

A typical timeline for clients goes as follows:

  • 1 hour prior to the ceremony the wedding party arrives to get dressed in the bedrooms and take pre-ceremony pictures
  • 30 min spent on the ceremony
  • 30 min spent taking more pictures
  • 1 hour spent on dinner
  • 2 ½ hours for dancing, cake cutting, garter toss, etc.
  • 30 min to gather everything inside the house that you brought and make your exit

Should you feel that you need to rent the venue for additional time for these activities, it’s $200 per ½ hour and $400 per hour.

Amenities

Amenities included within the rental fee include the use of both the indoor and the outdoor space of the property which includes a fully furnished and decorated house, 12-acre grounds with formal gardens, and a 22 x 42 foot limestone terrace dance floor/concert area. We have outdoor wrought-iron garden seating for up to 300 dinner guests as well as garden furniture scattered around. Centrally located near our two-tiered stone fountain is our wedding arch that you are able to decorate however you choose. We also have large iron buffet and bar tables available for outdoor use. The property is lit for the duration of the rental time where there is café lighting strung over the limestone terrace and dining area below. Our allée of mesquite trees have iron chandeliers wrapped in twinkle lighting and lanterns hung about. We have an iron gazebo lighted with café lights, and arches covered with climbing roses and twinkle lights. We have quaint stucco garden buildings decorated with Moroccan iron windows that are perfect for wedding picture formals. Indoors, we have a 12-foot long island buffet with rolled marble tile top in our kitchen area and tables in the dining area that are ideal for food, sign-in, cake cutting, presents, etc. Our dining area can accommodate up to 80 cocktail guests. Also included are two upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms for wedding party dressing as well as a powder room downstairs for guests. If there are over 150 guests, portable toilets or comfort trailers are required at the client’s expense. Le San Michele offers in-house rental items and services that can be added onto the rental fee for an up-charge (ex. glassware, plate ware, silverware, linens). Requirements to reserve the date

Le San Michele requires a $500 non-refundable reservation deposit (which is separate from the rental fee) to reserve a date. A completed and signed contract and the full rental fee are due within 7 days from Le San Michele receiving the reservation deposit; otherwise the date is no longer reserved. The only exception to paying the full rental fee upon signing the contract is if special payment terms have been agreed upon in advance with a Le San Michele representative and have been clearly stated and outlined in the Payment Agreement on page 1 of the contract. The total rental fee must be paid in full within 4 months from the reservation deposit payment. If your event date is prior to 4 months of your reservation deposit payment then the rental fee must be paid in full at the time of your reservation deposit payment. Under the Payment Agreement you may divide your total rental fee into 4 payments within 4 months of the reservation deposit payment. Rental fees and the reservation deposit payment can be paid by cash, check, or credit card (not including American Express). You can view our CONTRACT for more information.

Rental Time Allotment

Event Rental Time begins when the client/s, their guests, or vendors begin occupying the house until the last person exits the house. Included in the hourly rental rate are 6 hours of Outdoor Only Time for exterior set up and take down, decorating and moving of Le San Michele furniture and accessories by Le Michele staff only, deliveries and pick ups of rental items, and rehearsal. Additional Outdoor Only Time is $100 per hour. Photography Time is not included in Outdoor Rental Time and should take place separately or during regular Indoor Rental Time. If Le San Michele staff is required for any special labor for moving and/or rearranging Le San Michele furniture, accessories, and lighting, the rate is $25 per man-hour. Professional Moving Contractors may be required at market rates for any events that include substantial moving of Le San Michele property. You can view our CONTRACT for more information.

Parking

Parking is available on the east side of the property in the gravel parking area designated on the AERIAL MAP. Guests must follow the parking signs to this area where a maximum of 100 cars are allowed. Extra parking can be accommodated on the gravel roads only. There is NO PARKING OR DRIVING ALLOWED IN THE GRASS. There is also no parking on the motor court that leads to the parking area, as to allow for free traffic flow and access for emergency vehicles. The motor court is used for unloading and loading only. Shuttles and charter buses are allowed to enter into our lot. Valet parking is not required but clients are able to hire their own parking attendants. Clients with large numbers of guests may be required to hire a parking attendant at their own expense.

Capacity

Le San Michele can accommodate up to 300 people outdoors.

The indoor capacity is 80 cocktail guests.

Le San Michele has an open vendor policy; however, tent companies must be licensed, insured, and be on our approved vendor list. Below are the vendors Le San Michele does not provide:

Catering

Le San Michele has an open vendor policy (with the exception of tents) so clients are able to hire a caterer that they prefer as long as Le San Michele’s on-site kitchen facilities are not being used. This will ensure that your event will have a full service catering experience, regardless of the food that is served, so the set up, execution and clean up of your event are flawless and meet our requirements and high expectations as the top wedding venue Austin has to offer. Food trucks are allowed but must be pre-approved. You can also view our list of preferred vendors on our BLOG.

Alcohol

Clients are required to bring in their own alcohol including beer, wine, and liquor. Le San Michele has an open vendor policy (with the exception of tents) so clients are able to hire bartenders that they prefer, but they are required to be TABC licensed and preferably insured to serve all alcoholic beverages. Le San Michele does not provide glassware, mixers, garnishes, or ice, so clients would have to bring them if needed.

Rain Plan/Tents

In the event of inclement weather, Le San Michele allows for tenting on the property. Tenting is also an option if the number-of-guests exceed our indoor capacity. Tents may be set up covering the terrace and/or dining area below. Many clients choose to set up tents in different areas of the garden to provide shade and add ambiance. You may add walls (clear walls recommended) to the tents for additional protection from the wind or cool weather, with tent heaters if needed. Le San Michele does not provide heaters but if the client wishes to rent heaters for inside the tent/s, make sure they are specifically tent heaters. Tent companies must be licensed, insured, and be on our approved vendor list. All tent setup, delivery times, and locations must be approved by Le San Michele in advance.

Dance Floor/Stage

Le San Michele has a 22 x 42 foot limestone terrace outdoors that is used by many clients as their dance floor. Clients who wish to have a stage, wooden dance floor, and/or additional flooring are allowed to set it up in other locations with location approval by Le San Michele. Removal of any stage and/or additional flooring must be done by the following morning to avoid damaging the grass.

Outdoor Music

From big bands to mariachi bands, acoustic music to jazz, this venue is a great place to enjoy all types of music. Our venue is located in Hays County so we follow their sound ordinance which is 85 sounds decimals and 300 feet from the fence line. We do not have a specific cut off time for music.We also have a bank of outdoor outlets on the north east corner of our terrace for bands. If there are extra needs you may need a generator. We are more than happy to meet with your vendors on site for their electrical needs.

Decorations/ Exit Items

We suggest low and heavily weighted floral arrangements outdoors in case of wind. We do not allow open flames but candles may be used with glass. Le San Michele staff must approve any special decoration needs. No staples, tacks, tape, or nails may be used to attach decorations. No paint may be applied. For exits no glitter, non-decomposable confetti, birdseed, open flame candles, sparklers, or fireworks, may be used. Bubbles, biodegradable petals & snow, glow sticks, and ribbon streamers all make great photographic exits.

Cancellation Policy

The reservation deposit is non-refundable and therefore is forfeited in the event of a cancellation. Please review our cancellation policy in our CONTRACT for more information.

Le San Michele does not provide on-site accommodations and recommends lodging in areas such as:

Security

A Le San Michele staff person will be on duty during the entire time of the rental. A security guard is not required but the client is able to hire one at their own expense. In the event of an unruly guest or vendor, Le San Michele reserves the right to call the authorities. Le San Michele is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Pets/Animals

Le San Michele is very pet friendly! As long as the animal is not destroying the grounds, has supervision, and all waste is collected, you are more than welcome to bring them.

Wifi

Le San Michele has WIFI that all guests are available to use.

Smoking

Guests are allowed to smoke outdoors in the gravel areas. There is no smoking allowed indoors. There are no ashtrays provided so clients should bring their own ashtrays for guests.
